These trees at the top of a mountain leading to a shrine are hundreds of years old, some reaching 700-800 years! Did the planter of these trees realize how long these trees would last? How many people they would inspire? How many people would trek halfway across the world just to witness them?

It’s amazing to think that the trees themselves could care less about any of that, and just continue to do what they do: grow.

I want to be able to do something that could leave a long-lasting and inspirational mark.

It’s amazing how people are drawn the the first signs of spring. Plum trees are blossoming already despite snowfall just the day before. Nature is always springing right back into place. We should too.

Where does the ocean meet the sky? The horizon feels intangible, like searching for the end of a rainbow.

I see it, and I know it is there, but I can’t touch it, which makes me question its existence.

Is touch then only way I can feel certain and secure with something’s existence? Without touch, could it all be just a trick, and suddenly vanish? Without tangible touch, can I not trust?

This lucky duck built her nest in an ideal warm spot next to Voltage Box A. I wonder when the radiated chicks will hatch.

I was really surprised to find these rice balls selling at the convenience store today. This after searching in vain for a Canadian food restaurant in Tokyo. I am still unsure about how ‘ginger pork’ is considered a Canadian flavour , but nonetheless the onigiri tasted pretty good.

My Canadian onigiri flavour idea: maple bacon onigiri. Wouldn’t that be nice?

I bought a taiyaki maker last week, and was kind of disappointed that the mold has the fish frowning. Are frowning fish more realistic? Do fish smile?
I think I would be happier eating smiling fish.

First Tokyo sunrise of 2010

Happy new year! May it be a good year for everyone.

We spent the day playing with painted maccaroni pieces at work today. Playing like children with no worries, no race against timed deadline, no real aim, nor any reason but to create.

It was fun.

I want to travel more.
